| Shrnutí: | Diseases that develop totally or partially during adulthood come from the cumulative effects of excessive energy consumption, diets high in saturated fats and low in vegetables, fruits and alcohol consumption. The general objective was to identify the influence of food and nutritional status of adults from 20 to 64 years of age at the Montalvo Ciudadela San Miguel health center, in the Montalvo Canton, Los Ríos, from May - September 2019. It was necessary to take anthropometric measurements (weight, height, body mass index) and application of nutritional background questionnaires and the 24-hour reminder. The results that were found when applying the body mass index in adults, were overweight whose range of BMI was 25 to 24.99 corresponding to 42% of adults while obesity grade 1 from 30 to 34.99 corresponding to 19%, obesity When applying the nutritional coefficient of the 24-hour reminder, the percentage of adults with inadequate calorie consumption was 80%, carbohydrates 55%, protein 41% and lipids 45%. The influence that diet has on overweight and obesity was identified because adults consume more foods high in carbohydrates and fats such as rice, green plantain, carbonated beverages, processed juices, refined flours and African palm vegetable oil , which have a detrimental influence on the weight gain of adults from 20 to 64 years of age. |
