Most salmonellas affect and cause diseases in different animal species; Domestic birds constitute a reservoir for these bacteria due to the permanent population at risk that is maintained in poultry areas. The conclusions detail that Salmonellosis is a set of diseases caused by the bacterial genus Salmonella, belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family, the main reservoir of these bacteria are poultry and Salmonella is an acapsular bacillus, facultative anaerobes, closely related morphologically and physiologically with the other genera of the family Enterobacteriaceae, 2-4 µm long by 0.6 µm wide, showing colonies between 2 and 3 mm in diameter, gray-white in color and viscous in texture, when isolated on plates of agar-blood for 24h at 37º C. They are mobile due to the presence of peritrichous flagella. |

La Salmonelosis aviar tiene como agente causal Salmonella sp. incluídas en la familia enterobacteriaceae. La mayoría de salmonellas afectan y causan enfermedades en diferentes especies animales; las aves domésticas constituyen un reservorio a estas bacterias debido a la permanente población en riesgo que se mantiene en las avícolas. Las conclusiones detallan que Salmonelosis es un conjunto de enfermedades producidas por el género bacteriano Salmonella, perteneciente a la familia Enterobacteriaceae, el principal reservorio de estas bacterias son las aves de corral y Salmonella es un bacilo acapsular, anaerobios facultativos, estrechamente relacionados morfológica y fisiológicamente con los otros géneros de la familia Enterobacteriaceae, de 2-4 µm de largo por 0,6 µm de ancho, que muestra colonias de entre 2 y 3 mm de diámetro, de color blanco-gris y textura viscosa, cuando se aíslan en placas de agar-sangre durante 24h a 37º C.
