| Summary: | Endometriosis is a benign, estrogen-dependent inflammatory disease characterized by the presence of endometrial glands and stroma at a site other than the uterine cavity. The incidence of endometriosis in Ecuador is estimated at 10% of women who are in their reproductive age. The prevalence can reach up to 25 to 35% in infertile women. The following case study deals with a 47-year-old patient who was admitted for more than 24 hours presenting severe vaginal bleeding with clots plus severe dysmenorrhea, headache, dizziness, for which she was hospitalized. Blood tests and transvaginal ultrasound are performed, this being the last one that confirmed the presence of endometriosis in the uterus. The treatment that will be applied is pharmacological. The general objective was to develop the Nursing Care process in a 47-year-old patient with the diagnosis of endometriosis of uterine cervix, at the Babahoyo IESS General Hospital, to improve her health problem. The realization of this clinical case allowed us to recognize that this disease is a real problem in women between 25 and 50 years old and that it can affect them not only in their quality of life but also emotionally. The development of this research work helped to acquire knowledge about this pathology, as well as the adequate nursing care that should be provided; With the application of the Nursing Care Process, obtain the prompt recovery of the patient based on their treatment. Helping her not only in her physical or biological aspect but also from an emotional point of view. |
