In our country, motorcyclist accidents are very frequent in adolescents, with polytrauma being the main cause of death, disability or limitation in this age group. This case study focuses on the nursing care process in adolescent patients with a fracture of the tibia diaphysis due to a traffic accident. In the initial assessment, we identified their problems and needs in order to establish nursing care plans and prevent any risk factor that could deteriorate their state of health. Most adolescents end up with surgical procedures, external implants in lower extremities as external fixation tutors, and in more serious cases require prosthesis or amputation of the affected limb as a result of the great trauma, causing our young people not only a physical limitation but also a psychological one. It is essential to keep wounds, bandages, dressings and drains clean and dry, involving the adolescent's family or caregiver at all times. |

It is essential to keep wounds, bandages, dressings and drains clean and dry, involving the adolescent's family or caregiver at all times.En la locomoción del cuerpo humano las extremidades inferiores son el medio primario para que una persona pueda movilizarse de un lugar a otro, en nuestro país los accidentes de motociclistas son muy frecuentes en los adolescentes, siendo el politraumatismo la principal causa de muerte, incapacidad o limitación en este grupo etario. Este estudio de caso se centra en el proceso atención de enfermería en paciente adolescente con fractura de la diáfisis de la tibia debido a un accidente de tránsito, en la valoración inicial identificamos sus problemas y necesidades para así poder establecer los planes de cuidado de enfermería y prevenir algún factor de riesgo que llegue a deteriorar su estado de salud. La mayoría de los adolescentes terminan con procedimientos quirúrgicos, implantes externos en extremidades inferiores como tutores de fijación externos, y en casos más graves requieren de prótesis o amputación del miembro afectado a consecuencia del gran trauma, ocasionándoles a nuestros jóvenes no solo una limitación física sino también psicológica.
