Protocolo de enfermería y su relación con el proceso de autocuidado del adulto mayor aplicando índice katz, en Subcentro de Salud Isla Trinitaria octubre 2018 – abril 2019

The problem of the study is related to the self-care of the elderly, for this purpose, the Trinitarian Island Sub-Center for Health was taken as a special circumstance and temporary for the present year, selecting the Katz index as a method to answer the question of the problem that it manifested. : What is the relationship between the nursing protocol and the self-care process of the elderly? In this way, the objective of determining the relationship between the nursing protocol and the self-care process of the elderly has been achieved, applying the Katz index, in the Trinitaria Isla Subcenter, from October 2018 to April 2019. The descriptive, quantitative methodology was applied, with the use of the survey under the Katz index, applied to the elderly and / or their caregivers, of which the female population was 56%, whose results showed that two thirds of the people over 65 can eat, bathe, change clothes, move in and out of the house and go to the bathroom to perform their physiological needs, independently, while the third part is dependent, despite this, the majority population has not received information material, counseling, or educational talks related to the self-care of this priority group, that is, that the protocol was not met or nursing, in conclusion, there is a relationship between self-care and the level of independence of the elderly, therefore, an educational plan for the prevention of diseases in older adults was proposed.
