SUMMARY This research was conducted in the field of Puntales Alto, Canton Bolivar, Carchi province, located north of Ecuador in the coordinates, 0 ° 31`16 "north latitude and 77 ° 55`54,4" west longitude, in altitude of 2,980 meters over level sea. Weather conditions in the area show an annual average: 750 mm precipitation, temperature 12oC and a relative humidity of 70%. The living area is located with Montano (bh-M) rainforest. Presents a clay loam soil with a pH of 6.2, as the hybrid genetic material of the commercial INSUSEMILLAS (Cascade F1) was used, the factors under study were; Sources of Calcium and Boron; Calcium oxide. CaO; Calcium carbonate. Ca CO3; Boric acid 17%; Borax 13%; CaO + Boric acid 17%; Borax + 13% CaO; CaCO3 + boric acid 17%; Ca CO3 + Borax 13%, the processing carried out in the research project were 8 and a total absolute // in al tratamentes 9. Complete Randomized Design blocks, was the design used for statistical differences in the results variables were subjected to Fisher's test at 5% probability. The total area was 481 m2, the area of the experimental unit 9 m2. 4 m2 net area. The work done to fulfill the research were; soil analysis, preparation, demarcation of plots, trenching, planting, identification and treatment plants to assess, irrigation, fertilization, and application of sources of calcium and boron and harvest. The variables recorded were; plant height to 30-85 and 120 dats, root diameter and length, weight of 10 tubers, incidence and severity of crack, yield per unit and experimental treatments analyzed economically. the following was recorded; applying (calcium oxide. CaO) showed greater control in the incidence and severity of cracking, but also in the use of the combination of (CaO + Boric acid 17%) was recorded statistically similar values. The T1 (calcium oxide. CaO) and T5 (CaO + Boric acid 17%) presented the best agronomic crop performance at its plant height, diameter and length of tuber weight of tubers and yield per experimental unit, was recorded in both cases the greatest economic benefit of 8128.80 and 7620.30 USD/ha. With regard to the witness I present the least agronomic plant development and increased incidence and severity of disease. |
