Sugarcane cultivars present differentiated responses to herbicides, due to this, frequent phytotoxicity problems, effects on the soil, cultivation, environmental contamination, among others, which lead to a reduction in the productivity of the sugarcane cultivars. This research talks about each of the most notorious and important problems that herbicides can cause, the precautions and recommendations that we must take into account when applying a herbicide to sugarcane crops. |

Según la información compilada nos da a conocer que el cultivo de caña de azúcar es de gran importancia económica en el Ecuador y a nivel mundial ya que de este cultivo se producen diversidad de productos para el consumo humano, por lo que debemos de tener presente los problemas que pueden llegar a causar el mal uso de los herbicidas. Los cultivares de caña de azúcar presentan respuestas diferenciadas a los herbicidas debido a esto se tiene, como consecuencia frecuentes problemas de fitotoxicidad, afectaciones en el suelo, al cultivo, contaminación ambiental entre otros, lo que llega a ocasionar la reducción de la productividad de los cultivares de caña de azúcar.
