Резюме:High blood pressure has been considered a serious public health problem of global interest because it increases the risk of complications such as encephalopathies, nephropathies and heart disease caused by poor diabetes control. The objective of this clinical case was to improve the nutritional status of a patient with arterial hypertension and overweight through the nutritional care process, which includes nutritional assessment through anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary data; diagnosis nutritional integral , nutritional intervention estimating energy and macronutrient needs and due nutritional monitoring. We worked with a 42-year-old female patient with high blood pressure for a period of two months. The results obtained indicate that during this period of time it was possible to improve the nutritional status of the patient significantly, with this it has been achieved among other things to improve biochemical values in her lipid profile and blood pressure values. With this it can be concluded that nutrition has a very important role in the treatment of arterial hypertension and to also achieve good control of the disease.
