Sammanfattning:The purpose of this case study is to analyze the selection of personnel in the Decentralized Municipal Autonomous Government of the Palenque Canton using techniques and instruments to determine the shortcomings in the hiring of personnel, for which the root cause method was applied, allowing to determine the causes that affect the personnel selection process within the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Palenque. Through an interview, it was concluded that the causes that affect the work performance of employees were the following: The lack of diversity and inclusion policy in the workplace and that guarantee equal opportunities for all employees, the limited communication that old employees have with new employees entering the workforce, the scarcity of training programs where they can keep employees updated with information so they can serve citizens. in a more efficient way, which is why it is recommended to create training programs so that newly hired employees can know the activities that concern them in their job and older employees have the opportunity to update process information in all work areas.
