Resumo:Emotional intelligence is the ability to accurately perceive and express emotions, have access to other people's emotions or generate them when they are productive for thought; understand the nature of emotions, so that one is able to regulate them in order to promote both emotional and intellectual growth. The following project called emotional intelligence and its influence on the learning of 9th year EGB children of the Adolfo María Astudillo Educational Unit of the city of Babahoyo 2023-2024 has the general objective of analyzing the influence of emotional intelligence on the learning of students. 9th year EGB students from the Adolfo María Astudillo Educational Unit of the city of Babahoyo 2023-2024. In this study, a descriptive approach was used, allowing for a thorough analysis of the variables involved, providing a complete and accurate vision of the educational reality in said institution. The documentary research design was also used, which is characterized by the exhaustive and systematic review of sources. Existing documents such as books, academic articles, government reports and other previous documents that have explored the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance in similar environments. The sample for the statistical study was based on 25 students and 4 teachers who teach classes in the course mentioned above.
