The PBL active teaching methodology has a positive influence on students by completely changing the perspective they have on the learning process, which is generally associated with monotonous and boring days that only seek to comply with established plans, therefore The present research work called Active Teaching Methodology and its influence on academic performance in 5th year EGB students of the Adolfo María Astudillo Educational Unit of the city of Babahoyo has the general objective of determining the influence of the active teaching methodology in academic performance in 5th year EGB students of the Adolfo María Astudillo Educational Unit in the city of Babahoyo. Due to the nature of its research, it was based on qualitative research, using the bibliographic research technique and a deep search for information from scientific articles, projects, theses and repositories to develop the two variables that form the theoretical framework and as an instrument. The interview was used to collect necessary information related to the established objectives.
