Samenvatting:Visual fatigue or asthenopic symptoms are a set of discomforts that affect vision caused by excessive effort of eye muscles that are caused by different factors, including exposure to digital screens. The objective was to determine the relationship between the use of digital screens and asthenopic symptoms in administrative personnel who work in the Faculties of the Technical University of Babahoyo; Methodology: The Methodology was field-applied, descriptive, prospective cross-sectional with a qualitative approach, we worked with 18 administrative staff with an age range of 25 to 35 years, the CVSS17 Test was applied in order to analyze the stenopic symptoms derived from prolonged use of digital screens. Results: The most frequent gender was female in the range of 25 to 35 years, the most frequent symptoms were blurred vision (12), (15) eye pain, (15) eyelid heaviness, (15) increased blinking, (14) with burning eyes, with accommodation (13), and visual fatigue (15); The prevalence was 44.1% of symptoms in the study population. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a high frequency of asthenopic symptoms in administrative employees of the different faculties of the Technical University of Babahoyo, which affects their work performance, due to the exposure of more than eight hours working on digital screens, Inappropriate distance adoption and poor knowledge of visual care contribute to the increase in this pathology; the use of blue block lenses can reduce the incidence in administrative staff.
