Yhteenveto:The case of a female patient, 41 years old, Works as a banana sealer in a farm for 3 years, is presented 2 months ago she underwent a surgical process that consistedd of extracting the cecal appendix due to a Peritonitis goes to the outpatient clinic for presenting mild abdominal pain, weakness and vomiting for 1 month of evolutionn, showing sings and symptoms such as: nausea, loss of apetite, meteorism, costipation, visible bone prominences, the attending physician diagnoses moderate protein caloric malnutrition. After this, a nutritional assessment is carried out to verify the status of the patient, including: biochemical data that reveal hyperglycemia and hipoalbuminemia, decreased creatinine and decreased total proteins reflecting severe malnutrition; according to their anthropometric data they point out; normal body mass index, but its percentage of weight loss is 32% indicanting loss of muscle mass. Additionally, it’s food history indicates limited intake and does not meet its energy requirement despite the fact that the patient considers the quañity of their intake is appropriate and normal. Then, in the present clinical case, the nutritional intervention estableshed by a food plan according to their needs and situation, dieto f hyperproteic and hypocaloric characteristics,in addition to using a supplement and ensuring the contribution of necessary requirements for the patitent and weight gain. Alson, control and follwn-up to verify the current nutritional status of the patient.
