Shrnutí:OBJETIVES: To identify the risk factors related to vulvoperineal tears in pregnant women treated at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital during 2018. METHOD AND MATERIAL: This research study is descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional, in the population all pregnant women who were treated at the "Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro" in 2018. There were 603 being the total population. The sample consists of clinical records of patients treated at the "Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital" who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a diagnosis of risk factors and vulvoperineal tears, with a total of 229 cases. RESULTS: As an evaluation the total number of normal deliveries was given monthly, it was observed in the first four-month period with 124 deliveries with a portaje (54%) in the second four-month period with 105 normal births that equals (46%) in which there were 229 births totals that give 100% as a reference. According to the classification grades of vulvoperineal tears, it was observed that the first grade has 100 attended deliveries that equals (44%) of vulvoperineal tears; in the second grade we have 84 deliveries attended which is equivalent to (37%) of vulvoperineal tears; third grade we have 30 attended deliveries that presented vulvoperineal tears (13%) and a fourth grade we have 15 deliveries treated with vulvoperineal tears that equals (7%). The frequency of vulvoperineal tears according to age, we can observe a higher percentage of vulvoperineal tears that occurred in two age groups between 15 to 25 years (66%) among them adolescents, while those who are 25 to 35 years old (34%) ) are the ones with the lowest percentage of vulvoperineal tears. The pregnant women with vulvoperineal tears according to parity, we can observe the highest percentage of vulvoperineal tears was presented in two parity groups we have the nulliparous (83%) and the multiparous (17%) are the lowest percentage to present vulvoperineal tears As evaluation was given that in the low weight we have 26 newborn that is equivalent (11%) in an adequate weight there are 173 newborn that is equivalent (76%) and in those of high weight there is 30 newborn that is equivalent to (13%). The pregnant women according to the expulsion time, we can observe that there is a greater percentage of time that goes from 0-10min that is equivalent to (48%); continuing, according to the expulsion time of the pregnant women of 11-40min this gives us a referential percentage of (35%); while those that presented a lower percentage according to their expulsion time that goes from 41-50min that represents (17%). Pregnant women according to the preparation of obstetric psycho-prophylaxis; we can observe a lower percentage of vulvoperineal tears in those that are prepared, this means that they have attended every month to routine exercises, ie one (28%) while those with a higher percentage are those who have not done any exercise Obstetric psycho-prophylaxis and more prone to develop vulvoperineal tears, which represents (72%) of pregnant women
