| Summary: | This case study describes the nutritional management of heart failure in a 56-year-old female patient, who has a personal pathological history: poorly controlled high blood pressure from the age of 38, an acute myocardial infarction that occurred a year ago, harmful smoking habits since age 30, and poor eating habits. He goes to a doctor's office for symptoms of dyspnoea, tiredness and shortness of breath when he climbs uphill, climbs stairs or walks for more than 15 minutes, and edema of the lower ones that in the morning starts from the feet and with the passage of hours goes up to the calf which leaves forvea. For the development of the case was established as a general objective Provide a therapeutic dietary plan that improves the nutritional status of the 56-year-old male patient with heart failure. Throughout the development, various parameters were also evaluated to establish nutritional diagnosis so that the most appropriate intervention can be determined and performed. A DASH diet of 1972kcal is established daily, distributed in 5 meal times, selected foods suitable for your pathology. A month later through the nutritional monitoring carried out it is concluded that the nutritional plan achieved the fulfillment of the overall objective, achieving favorable results for the patient. |
