The morphological development of the pastures is very similar between different species with small variations mainly in the type of growth, some erect, semi-straight, crawling etc. The janeiro grass is the most planted in the lowlands of Ecuador for its adaptability and good forage production in dry season and in summer with irrigation application. This forage species constitutes 33.8% of native pastures in the cantons of Vinces and Baba, and is considered the best for milk production nationwide |

This forage species constitutes 33.8% of native pastures in the cantons of Vinces and Baba, and is considered the best for milk production nationwideEl presente trabajo se llevó con la finalidad de evaluar y determinar el comportamiento agronómico del pasto janeiro (Eriochloa polystachya), con la aplicación de nitrógeno en el cantón Babahoyo, por lo tanto, las gramíneas son muy importantes en los ecosistemas terrestres ya que han existido desde siempre, se han adaptado en diferentes campos sirviendo de alimento ya sea para al hombre como para los animales. El desarrollo morfológico de los pastos es muy similar entre diferentes especies con pequeñas variaciones principalmente en el tipo de crecimiento, unas erectas, semirrectas, rastreras etc. El pasto janeiro es el más sembrado en las zonas bajas de Ecuador por su adaptabilidad y buena producción de forraje en época de secano y en verano con aplicación de riego.
