The process of teaching and learning in the subject of language and literature is one of the areas that has presented the most inconvenience at the time of school instruction, its main drawbacks is that students show little interest in developing an effective learning in the issues related to reading, writing and all subjects to ends with the discipline, that is why teachers must be prepared to face these school challenges through the application of teaching guides that facilitate the enrichment of teaching processes to develop efficient learning fulfilling the goal as teachers. Considering the need to improve the quality of education and the deficiency that exists in the area of Language and Literature, the proposal is proposed to apply active techniques in the teaching and learning process in the students of the second year of Basic Education of the School "November 10". The use of active techniques is an alternative to achieve an optimal development of cognitive skills in each of the students, so the teacher must be prepared to update their knowledge and apply teaching skills that encourage the student to participate developing their psychomotor skills turning it into protagonist and main axis of his classroom
