Complicaciones patológicas asociadas con el consumo alimentario en pacientes con diabetes tipo 2 del Centro de Salud Pimocha, Cantón Babahoyo, provincia Los Ríos, periodo junio – octubre 2023.

Type II diabetes is a chronic, degenerative condition that can damage various organ tissues and cause serious acute or chronic complications. Current unhealthy eating and living habits are directly related to this pathology. Therefore, the research has aimed to associate pathological complications with food consumption in patients with type II diabetes at the Pimocha health center, Babahoyo Canton, Los Ríos province, Period June - October 2023. The methodology of the investigative process is deductive in nature, starting from the general to the particular, in terms of the modality it has a qualitative and quantitative approach, the type of research of non-experimental methodological design of a transversal type is also applied, since the study is carried out in a certain period; For data collection, the survey was applied as a technique with questions corresponding to the study variables. Their sample corresponds to 81 patients treated at the Pimocha Health Center. The results obtained reveal that patients with type II diabetes mellitus do not consume a healthy and balanced diet, according to their health status, which produces conditions conducive to the appearance of pathological complications. This leads us to the conclusion that the nutrition of diabetic patients is the basis of diabetes treatment and that its recommendations should be made with a view to regulating metabolism, reducing vascular complications and improving quality of life and lifestyle. from the patients.
