| Summary: | This document details the benefits in the use of mycorrhizae applied to the cultivation of Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) in the Guayas area. Sugarcane is a crop of great importance, which is present in the daily consumption of a large part of the population, for many people it constitutes a source of glucose for edible use. The prolonged and repetitive use of agricultural machinery in the establishment of sugarcane cultivation generates compaction in the soil, which generates problems of nutrient absorption and lack of moisture in the soil, in Ecuador there are problems of land degradation caused by different types of erosion that results in a decrease in the fertile capacities of the land. The lack of fertility and productivity directs the human being to the use of fertilization programs that are usually exhausting for the soil, which instead of generating a benefit, rather causes even more problems for soil fertility. The lack of knowledge about the benefits of mycorrhizae could be limiting the maximum use of sugar cane production without resorting to the excessive use of fertilizers. By improving the nutrition of the plant, it would improve the development and substantially the productivity of the sugar cane. Among the most visible benefits of the formation of mycorrhizae is the capacity of the fungi to stimulate a greater size and production of grains in the host plants, through the incorporation of phosphorus and other nutrients. |
