| Итог: | Sugarcane represents an important sector of the productive agricultural area, in which many people depend on this crop, carrying out various activities that range from planting, agronomic management, harvest, industrialization, transportation and marketing. In the growth and development of the sugarcane crop, there is a stage known as the critical period of competition, where weeds are harmful. This critical period of competition for sugarcane ranges from emergence to 5 months of age, where the crop is affected by competition for water, light, nutrients, and space. These weeds can reduce production under permanent conditions up to 97.5%. The most economically important weeds in sugarcane are: Cyperus rotundus, Digitaria ciliaris, Panicum hurticaule, Cyperus esculentus, Brachiaria fasciculata and R. cochinchinensis. Weed control methods include indirect (preventive) and direct (cultural and curative) methods. There are several methods for weed control in order to reduce their infestation to a certain level, which do not cause damage, the most used are the following: preventive, physical, cultural, chemical, biological and other unconventional methods. The information obtained was made by means of the analysis, synthesis and summary technique, in order for the reader to know about the importance of weed management in the cultivation of sugar cane. For the above detailed it was determined that in the cultivation of sugar cane weeds can be controlled within the first three or four months of their development. This critical stage of competition is fundamental for the future development of sugarcane and must be taken into account in the pre-emergent and post-emergent chemical control programs for weeds. In order to carry out efficient weed control in sugarcane cultivation, it is important to take into account the various factors such as: the predominant weed species, the state of development of the weeds and their relation to the crop, the equipment available for control, the weather conditions and soil moisture content to start the respective control. |
