Crynodeb:SUMMARY The following research work was developed in order to determine the management that the producer performs in the production of avocado in the parish of San José de Chaltura, canton Antonio Ante, province of Imbabura. In order to reach the goals initially proposed, a bibliographic review was carried out on avocado cultivation in terms of climatic requirements and crop technologies; Subsequently, a socialization meeting was held with the farmers of the area, to conduct a survey aimed at a sample of the population of avocado producers. Within the surveys several questions were presented, such as the age of the crop, the cultivated variety, its density of plantation, nutrition, irrigation, pruning, pests that affect its plantations and the production obtained in the last harvest, elements with which the information obtained was analyzed and the technological levels used were determined. With the data obtained, it is concluded that the level of use of the technologies in the Chaltura area is quite low, which explains the reduced yields and the low profitability that they obtain with respect to the productive potential of the avocado tree, so it is recommended that the training and the organizational strengthening are the mainstays that allow to achieve high yields to improve the living standards of avocado producers Keywords: Avocado, technologies, production, producers
