The adequate application of the different concepts in neonatal sepsis; the establishment of management protocols based on local epidemiology and; Having knowledge of the resistance profile of the germs will have as impact a better quality in the neonatal care, a rational and adequate use of the different medicines (among them the antibiotics), an improvement in the morbidity and mortality and a smaller impact in the generation of bacterial resistance. Every day there are novel concepts about neonatal sepsis, which must be known and incorporated, if they merit, into medical practice to generate higher quality care. |

Cabe mencionar que hay una mayor generación de conocimiento en el entendimiento de lo que sucede en los recién nacidos con sepsis neonatal temprana, esto debido a la comprensión del concepto de síndrome de respuesta inflamatoria fetal. La aplicación adecuada de los diferentes conceptos en sepsis neonatal; el establecimiento de protocolos de manejo basados en la epidemiología local y; tener el conocimiento del perfil de resistencia de los gérmenes tendrán como impacto una mejor calidad en la atención neonatal, un uso racional y adecuado de los diferentes medicamentos (entre éstos los antibióticos), una mejoría en la morbimortalidad y un menor impacto en la generación de resistencia bacteriana.
