Fournier's gangrene is a perineogenital, polymicrobial necrotizing infectious process, originated by aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, of rapid evolution, with a poor prognosis. The average age in the present study was similar to the data published by different authors, where urological causes have been more frequent, however in the patient studied in this case it was not possible to determine the main cause. |

The average age in the present study was similar to the data published by different authors, where urological causes have been more frequent, however in the patient studied in this case it was not possible to determine the main cause.La aplicación del Proceso de Atención de Enfermería (PAE) en pacientes con gangrena de Fournier garantiza la recuperación y mejora de la calidad de salud de los pacientes que padecen esta dolencia, se reconoce como una guía central que permite al profesional de Enfermería proporcionar cuidados con fundamentación metodológica, a través del lenguaje internacional NANDA, NOC, NIC. Para tener éxito en la implementación se requiere del desarrollo de competencias intelectuales, interpersonales y técnicas, además de la aplicación de la práctica reflexiva, lo cual es una fortaleza en el gremio de Enfermería. La gangrena de Fournier es un proceso infeccioso necrotizante perineogenital, polimicrobiano, originado por microorganismos aeróbicos y anaeróbicos, de evolución rápida, con pronóstico sombrío.
