The objective of the nutritional intervention is to improve the nutritional status of the patient and the referred symptoms, reduce the clinical manifestations of diabetes and hypertension that may affect the future. Patient needs nutritional treatment where they will proceed to the elaboration of a food plan, to improve their nutritional status and reduce the symptoms presented. |

Patient needs nutritional treatment where they will proceed to the elaboration of a food plan, to improve their nutritional status and reduce the symptoms presented.El presente caso clínico da a conocer a un paciente masculino de 31 años de edad con una talla de 1.65 metros y peso de 69 kg, fue diagnosticado diabético e hipertenso hace 2 años, actualmente presenta sobrepeso acude a consulta por presentar síntomas: sed excesiva, fatiga, visión borrosa, hormigueo en las manos y en los pies, acompañado de dolor de cabeza y vértigo, en los exámenes bioquímicos presenta glicemia elevada, colesterol y triglicéridos alterados, el médico general decide derivarlo con el nutricionista; al realizar la valoración antropométrica presenta un IMC de 25 kg/mt2 , circunferencia de cintura de 112 cm. y en el recordatorio de 24 horas una dieta hiperhidrocarbonada, sin actividad física. El objetivo de la intervención nutricional es mejorar el estado nutricional del paciente y los síntomas referidos, reducir las manifestaciones clínicas de la diabetes e hipertensión que pueden afectar en el futuro.
