| Περίληψη: | Hyperglycemia or high blood glucose is a very important factor to control in patients with diabetes. Factors that can influence it are diet and physical activity. Objective: To determine the relationship between blood glucose values and carbohydrate consumption in adult diabetic patients attending the El Mamey Health Center, period June - September 2024. Methodology: The method of this research will be inductive, quantitative, cross-sectional, with the participation of 99 adults diagnosed with diabetes. For data collection, a consumption frequency questionnaire will be applied and a fasting blood glucose test will be performed. Results: The gender was 56% male and 44% female, the ages of the highest cases of diabetes were 50 to 64 years, the highest percentage had carbohydrate consumption between 40 and 60% and glycemia values between 70 and 130 mg/dl, the mean carbohydrate consumption was 234.7 mg/day, the mean glycemia values were132.4 mg/dl. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between glycemia values and carbohydrate consumption as evidenced by the chi-square test value of p<0.001, in addition it can be observed that patients with high carbohydrate consumption greater than 350g are those who presented hyperglycemia (5.1%) and those with lower carbohydrate consumption, between 150 and 250 grams of carbohydrates have normal glycemia values (46.5%). |
