| Izvleček: | Evaluations with SPAD chlorophyll meters can provide fast and reliable measurements as long as they provide a sufficient number of measurements relevant to each species, five measurements to one create a custom model; The choice of the phenological state of the plant and the sector in which the measurements are made is also important, mainly because the leaves and their phyllotaxy have great differences in chlorophyll content. In this bibliographic work, all the information collected was analyzed, synthesized and summarized with the sole objective of providing specific information on the SPAD index in corn cultivation. The SPAD 502 Chlorophyll Meter is an instrument that can indirectly and non-destructively evaluate the chlorophyll content, in order to understand the nutritional value of your crops. To carry out sampling of chlorophyll readings in corn plants, it is recommended to do so in a state of six to eight leaves; The leaf to be sampled must have a complete collar with a white line, which will correspond to a mature leaf with good color. There is a linear relationship between chlorophyll content and nitrogen levels in corn leaves, where a simultaneous increase has been evidenced as chlorophyll readings increased and vice versa. The chlorophyll value at the V6 stage is related to the nitrogen status of the plant; A low assessment is found between SPAD values in the V6 stage and corn yield, highlighting its limited potential as a diagnostic tool at this stage. There are high correlations between SPAD readings in phenological stages R3-R4 and corn yield. Significant SPAD chlorophyll values are evident in the middle third of leaves 6 to 13 leaves; ranging between 50 and 54 SPAD units, with the highest values shown on sheets 10 and 11. |
