Además es una ciudad examinada por turistas nacionales debido a su deliciosa y variada gastronomía, basada principalmente en mariscos de rio y productos de la costa ecuatoriana; el objetivo general del presente estudio es determinar la contribución de la gastronomía ancestral en el desarrollo turístico, siendo su principal interés, dar a conocer su contribución y su reinvención para el progreso, convirtiéndose en materia para la elaboración de futuros proyectos en el campo turístico.
