الملخص:The purpose of this case study was to determine how intellectual disability, a disorder found in neurodevelopmental disorders, has its incidence on the academic performance of a 12-year-old adolescent from the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Educational Unit, this case was taken of the pre-professional practices, which was given its respective intervention and follow-up during that period. This disorder is very common not only at the national level, such a condition tends to affect three main domains, as well as: conceptual, social and practical domain, that is, it influences in a non-positive way various social environments (home, educational, work, etc.). In turn, in the present research work an intervention was carried out focused on providing reinforcement in the cognitive processes that are involved in the teaching-learning process, such processes are mentioned below: working memory, linguistic, abstract and mathematical. The research techniques used to address the problem were: indirect observation, semi-structured interview, clinical history, etc. On the other hand, the techniques used in each of the affected areas were: letter discrimination, guidelines for proper reading, strategies for abstract reasoning, and mathematical reasoning. The proper intervention was made in the problems related to learning, obtaining an improvement, but not immediately, it is suggested that teachers and parents pay attention to such deficiencies that may arise in life as a student of their children, since this It can have repercussions as the educational level progresses, making it a big problem.
