Summary: | Weeds are those plants that have no beneficial purpose in a crop, commonly called weeds; They play a fundamental role in agriculture, interfering in many factors, keeping in mind the competition for the absorption of nutrients, water, light and physical space. Agrotoxics are chemical products with harmful content for plants, insects, diseases, among others; The purpose of which is to prevent, destroy or combat different pests, thus, the agrotoxins cataloged for the prevention, destruction or combat against weeds are herbicides. The purpose of this study was to compile documented information on the processes of obtaining agrotoxic molecules for weed control, focusing on synthesis methods and their relationship with control effectiveness. The approach includes a non-experimental research design based on the collection, analysis and synthesis of relevant scientific information. The results indicate that organic synthesis is a key method in the development of sustainable herbicides, combining chemical reactions with green chemistry approaches to reduce environmental impact. The chemical structure of these compounds determines their mechanism of action, allowing selective weed control. Molecules such as glyphosate and atrazine stand out for their effectiveness in inhibiting essential metabolic processes in plants. It is concluded that green chemistry and organic synthesis allow the development of more sustainable and efficient herbicides, reducing the environmental impact. However, the use of agrochemicals such as glyphosate and atrazine requires responsible application to minimize health and ecosystem risks, highlighting the importance of safe and sustainable strategies in agriculture. |
