Izvleček: | Obstetric hemorrhage is one of the main causes of maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide. Recent estimates indicate that 29.3% of maternal deaths and 26.7% of cases with poor maternal prognosis are secondary to this condition. Objective: To determine the prevalence of Obstetric Hemorrhage in the Immediate Physiological Puerperium at the General Hospital Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Period May - September 2024, Methodology: This study adopted a descriptive and cross-sectional approach. The descriptive research was carried out with the purpose of characterizing the prevalence of obstetric hemorrhage during the immediate physiological puerperium period. On the other hand, the cross-sectional design focused on data collection at a specific time, which covered the period from May to September 2024. Result: The results of the research show that the prevalence of obstetric hemorrhage in the immediate physiological puerperium was higher in the month of July, with mild blood loss of up to 500 ml. The most affected patients were between 35 and 44 years old, resided in urban areas, were of mixed race and had secondary education. In addition, most of them had a history of previous hemorrhage and had had 3 to 4 deliveries, without chronic diseases. The most common complication was the need for massive transfusion. |
