Reference is also made about the effects and repercussions that living in these conditions causes in the life of the elderly. It also describes the process of psychodiagnostic intervention performed with the elderly, making known the techniques applied for the collection of information and detailing the results obtained in each of them, the symptomatic findings in each of its functional areas, establishing the corresponding diagnosis. Finally, a psychotherapeutic proposal is developed under the approach of Behavioral Emotional Rational Therapy, with the Emotional Rational Imagination technique. |

Se sustenta desde la revisión de literatura todo lo referente al abandono familiar y sus tipos. Se hace referencia también acerca de los efectos y repercusiones que ocasiona en la vida de las personas de la tercera edad el vivir en estas condiciones. Se describe además el proceso de intervención psicodiagnóstica realizada con el adulto mayor, dando a conocer las técnicas aplicadas para la recolección de información y se detallan los resultados obtenidos en cada uno de ellas, los hallazgos sintomatológicos en cada una de sus áreas funcionales, estableciendo el diagnóstico correspondiente.
