description Proper management of micronutrients is essential to optimize productivity and quality in pepper cultivation. This qualitative study investigated agronomic practices, knowledge, and perceptions of farmers regarding micronutrients in pepper cultivation. Through semi-structured interviews and focus groups, various management strategies used by farmers were identified, such as the application of organic fertilizers, the use of amendments, and crop rotation. Differences in farmers' knowledge and perceptions were observed, with some recognizing the importance of micronutrients for plant health and fruit quality, while others underestimated their relevance compared to other agronomic management factors. Additionally, the influence of contextual factors such as resource availability, climatic conditions, and accessibility to agricultural information on farmers' decisions regarding micronutrient management was highlighted. Challenges were identified, such as the lack of access to quality organic fertilizers and resistance to change in established agricultural practices, which affect the implementation of more efficient micronutrient management practices. As a result, recommendations are proposed to improve micronutrient management in pepper cultivation, including ongoing training for farmers, monitoring and diagnosis of crop nutrition, promotion of sustainable soil management practices, and improvement of resource availability necessary for micronutrient management

En este estudio cualitativo, se investigaron las prácticas agronómicas, los conocimientos y las percepciones de los agricultores respecto a los micronutrientes en el cultivo de pimiento. Mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales, se identificaron diversas estrategias de manejo utilizadas por los agricultores, como la aplicación de fertilizantes orgánicos, el uso de enmiendas y la rotación de cultivos. Se observaron diferencias en los conocimientos y percepciones de los agricultores, con algunos reconociendo la importancia de los micronutrientes para la salud de las plantas y la calidad de los frutos, mientras que otros subestimaban su relevancia en comparación con otros factores de manejo agronómico. Además, se destacó la importancia de los factores contextuales, como la disponibilidad de recursos, las condiciones climáticas y la accesibilidad a la información agrícola, en las decisiones de los agricultores sobre cómo manejar los micronutrientes. Se descubrieron obstáculos, como la falta de acceso a fertilizantes orgánicos de alta calidad y la resistencia al cambio en las prácticas agrícolas establecidas, que tienen un impacto en el desarrollo de métodos de manejo de micronutrientes más efectivos.
