| Sumari: | Idiopathic scoliosis is a curvature that manifests in the spine and its origin is unknown, usually appearing before skeletal maturity has been completed. This case study deals with a 17 year old adolescent diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis, she presents a concave curvature in the right side of the waist, which affects posture, mobility and aesthetics of the patient, which is why it has been proposed as a general objective to establish a physiotherapeutic plan to help improve the quality of physical life and to prevent future complications arising from scoliosis. To achieve this objective, a program was designed that includes different techniques, methods and exercises that will serve to strengthen the muscles of the back and buttocks, the postural correction and the decrease of the curvature presented by the patient. During the follow-up of the treatment plan, an improvement in posture, mobility and a decrease in the patient's concave curve was observed, as well as a decrease in pain. In addition, it was possible to prevent possible complications derived from the curvature of the spine. Conclusion: the treatment implemented in this case study was effective in improving the patient's quality of life and preventing complications associated with scoliosis. It is essential to continue with the follow-up and application of the therapeutic strategies in order to maintain the results obtained and to favor the patient's long-term well-being. |
