To collect fundamental information from the patient and reach a diagnosis, various techniques were used, such as direct observation, the psychological clinical interview, the psychological medical history and psychological tests, such as the Beck depression inventory test and the drawing test of the Karen Machover human figure. Upon having the pertinent diagnosis, a therapeutic scheme based on the cognitive-behavioral model was elaborated, using cognitive, behavioral and affective techniques, with the aim of modifying the thoughts and behaviors of the patient, so that he can reestablish his previous emotional and functional level to psychological disturbance. |

Upon having the pertinent diagnosis, a therapeutic scheme based on the cognitive-behavioral model was elaborated, using cognitive, behavioral and affective techniques, with the aim of modifying the thoughts and behaviors of the patient, so that he can reestablish his previous emotional and functional level to psychological disturbance.El presente estudio de caso se desarrolló bajo el tema violencia psicología y su influencia en el estado de animo de un adulto mayor del barrio San José del cantón Caluma, provincia de Bolívar, partiendo desde la conceptualización de la violencia psicológica, la cual se manifiesta en insultos, humillaciones, amedrentamiento, abuso de poder, privación de la libertad, indiferencia, exigencias que sobrepasan sus capacidades intelectuales o físicas, entre otros hacia el individuo violentado, manifestaciones que afectan y deterioran en gran medida su bienestar emocional, trayendo consigo graves consecuencias baja autoestima, ansiedad, estrés, sentimientos de culpa, irritabilidad, agresividad, aislamiento, desconfianza, desilusión, depresión e incluso ideas suicidas. Para recopilar información fundamental del paciente y llegar a un diagnóstico, se empleó diversas técnicas como la observación directa, la entrevista clínica psicológica, la historia clínica psicológica y test psicológicos, como el test del inventario de depresión de Beck y el test de dibujo de la figura humana de Karen Machover.
