This situation has a negative impact on the tourism development of any country or locality. The main objective of this research is to study the environmental impact on tourism development in the canton of Quevedo, province of Los Rios. |

The main objective of this research is to study the environmental impact on tourism development in the canton of Quevedo, province of Los Rios.El turismo es una actividad que con el pasar del tiempo ha crecido considerablemente por ser una industria que contribuye en la economía nacional e internacional por ser generadora de empleo e ingresos en un país o localidad; sin embargo depende mucho del entorno natural lo cual genera preocupación hoy en día porque el ecosistema se ve afectado en gran medida por el mal uso de los recursos naturales, tanto es así que con el pasar del tiempo varias especies de animal y vegetal se está extinguiendo en el mundo y la degradación del ecosistema aumenta más cada día, esto se debe al elevado volumen de residuos contaminantes que desechan sin previa gestión, la deforestación, la acumulación de gases de invernadero, la carencia de fuentes de agua potable, la residuos en los ríos y esteros, y la contaminación de desechos electronicos entre otros son los principales detonantes para que esto suceda. Situación que repercute negativamente en el desarrollo turístico de cualquier país o localidad.
