Summary:Depression as a clinical pathology has become one of the major affectations that our society suffers, feeling this situation in the large number of people who go to the psychology department of the insurance hospital of the Canton Babahoyo product of various factors stressing especially the family and economic . Behavioral cognitive strategies since its beginnings back in the 1950s thanks to PhD research. Albert Ellis has demonstrated its effectiveness in a large number of diseases of the human mind but it was Aaron Beck who focused the use of these clinical procedures to depression with favorable results in the emotional recovery of the patients and consequently the acceptance of much of the Intentional psychological community in the application of its postulates. The following research proposes the use of these strategies in the treatment of depression to patients who attend the IESS of this locality and affirms the contribution of the clinical psychologist to overcome it with the consequent emotional and functional recovery of the patient.
