Behavioral cognitive strategies since its beginnings back in the 1950s thanks to PhD research. Albert Ellis has demonstrated its effectiveness in a large number of diseases of the human mind but it was Aaron Beck who focused the use of these clinical procedures to depression with favorable results in the emotional recovery of the patients and consequently the acceptance of much of the Intentional psychological community in the application of its postulates. The following research proposes the use of these strategies in the treatment of depression to patients who attend the IESS of this locality and affirms the contribution of the clinical psychologist to overcome it with the consequent emotional and functional recovery of the patient. |

The following research proposes the use of these strategies in the treatment of depression to patients who attend the IESS of this locality and affirms the contribution of the clinical psychologist to overcome it with the consequent emotional and functional recovery of the patient.La depresión como patología clínica se ha convertido en una de las mayores afectaciones que padece nuestra sociedad palpándose esta situación en el gran número de personas que acuden al departamento de psicología del hospital del seguro del Cantón Babahoyo producto de diversos factores recalcando especialmente los familiares y económicos. Las estrategias cognitivas conductuales desde sus inicios allá por la década del 50 gracias a las investigaciones del Phd. Albert Ellis ha demostrado su efectividad en gran número de enfermedades de la mente humana pero fue Aaron Beck quien enfoco el uso de estos procedimientos clínicos a la depresión con resultados favorable en la recuperación emocional de los pacientes y por consiguiente la aceptación de gran parte de la comunidad psicológica intencional en la aplicación de sus postulados.
