Through a research with a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), descriptive, exploratory, deductive, with a transversal design, where observation and survey were used as data collection methods, applied to teachers, authorities, students and students. parents of the José Isaac Montes educational unit, located in the city of Quevedo, Ecuador. Through an exhaustive bibliographic review and data collection, it was possible to establish a sustainable idea of the magnitude of the problem and its impact on students and the educational community in general, showing that the problems of domestic violence, poor communication and interest of parents to the academic and personal development of their children has a direct impact on their scope within their work in the institution, who receive validate the hypothesis raised: Intrafamily conflicts have a significant impact on the academic performance of students of the basic level of the José Isaac Montes Educational Unit.
