Shrnutí:The present investigative work collected information about the agri-food culture of the urban area of the Babahoyo by conducting face-to-face surveys where 382 families from the four sampled parishes were sampled, which were Pimocha, Caracol, La Unión and Febres Cordero; The survey was comprised of two dimensions: Socioeconomic and Food Security. In the socio-economic dimension, it was identified that the heads of household are male, who presented a low level of education (Primary), generally engaged in agriculture and banana work, people who carry out agricultural activities own their own land, but only They carry out monocultures, including rice, soybeans, corn and cocoa, which are conventionally managed (agrochemicals). In the home environment, housewives do not have vertical orchards with vegetables, rather they have fruit trees within the patios of the houses for self-consumption, livestock activities are carried out for family self-consumption; As for family income, these are between $ 41 and $ 60 per week, these come from agriculture and work in private companies (banana). In the food security dimension, people buy their food and basic products from neighborhood stores. They also indicated that they make three meals a day at home; As for food, there is a high consumption of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Bananas, cheese, milk, eggs, table sugar, rice, wheat, butter and palm oil are mostly consumed at breakfast; At lunch, cheese, beef, seafood, chicken, pork, tomato, bell pepper, garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, potato, tree tomato, banana, lentil, table sugar, butter and palm oil are consumed; at snack they consume cheese, beef, seafood, chicken, beans, lentils, rice, sugar and palm oil.
