Sumari:Introduction: The good management of the optometric clinical practice will facilitate the recognition of the good condition or illness of our patients, which implies carrying out a complete routine assessment in which the accommodative system is valued and thus obtain an accurate diagnosis and know the origin of the signs and symptoms leading to detect in time the presence of any visual anomaly, especially Convergence Insufficiency. Objective: To promote the assessment of the Visual Accomodation System to detect early visual difficulties in the upcoming binocular vision of children from 6 to 11 years, encouraging this initiative, so that many optometrists apply it in the assessments, and register in the HC of the patient, as statistical data of the problem.. Material and Methods: the present study of investigation is of observational, descriptive type, where the evaluation of the SA by means of the PPC was realized of objective form detecting the presence of CI, evaluating its rupture and recovery. Results: In our investigation when analyzing the distribution of frequency and percentage of binocular fragility found, it turned out that convergence insufficiency in 13.75% and excess accommodation with 10.00% prevailed. It should be noted that 67.50% of the 80 students evaluated in our study did not present accommodative difficulties. This does not mean that the other students were not exempt from having any non-strabismic binocular dysfunction. Conclusions: Bearing in mind that the Convergence Insufficiency is not the most frequent Binocular Vision anomaly, but nevertheless it is the one that mostly goes unnoticed and its presence produces many symptoms in those who present it, the importance of determining its Presence in students is because it is usually a condition that is not corrected with lenses and whose treatment is Visual Therapy, in addition to having this dysfunction related to poor school performance. Determining that both clinically and statistically the problems of the accommodative system have an impact on academic performance.
