Achoimre:This document details the methods of controlling Echinochloas weeds in rice cultivation (Oryza sativa L.), developed through the compilation of diverse information for research purposes from various websites, scientific articles, sources and bibliographic repositories that are accessible through digital platforms. The conclusions determine that Echinochloa weed species are the most prevalent and abundant, and cause substantial crop losses due to competition for resources such as space, light, water, nutrients. The management of E. crus-galli and E. colona is crucial to achieve optimal crop yield levels. Given the abundant number of weed species within the genus Echinochloa, which are known to cause significant economic losses in various crops, it is imperative to understand the morphological characteristics, habitat preferences and control strategies of important weed species. The scenario of plantations with E. colona can consider the use of bispyribac-sodium due to its intrinsic effectiveness and its ability to be combined with other herbicides, such as 2,4-D, to control severe infestations. On the contrary, cyhalofop-butyl is not compatible with this type of herbicides, since its effectiveness in controlling grass weeds is significantly diminished by doing so.
