Samenvatting: | The postpartum hemorrhage is one of the main obstetric emergencies. The maternal mortality rate due to hemorrhage ranges between 30 and 50%. The most important risk factors are: advanced maternal age and chronic diseases. The most frequent etiology is Uterine Inertia, defined as the inability of the uterus to retract after delivery. Its prevention is based on the active management of labor and the treatment goes from the use of uterotics pharmacological therapies to emergency hysterectomy. Acreatism is an abnormal insertion of the placenta, its diagnosis is based on the use of ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Magnetic Resonance and its treatment is delivery by cesarean section with hysterectomy, interventional radiology has contributed to significantly reduce the severity of postpartum hemorrhage . It is essential to have protocolized action guides to avoid or reduce their incidence and magnitude. |
