Резюме:This case study is based on the intervention of a respiratory therapist in a 35-year-old woman diagnosed with nosocomial ventilator-associated pneumonia. Ventilator-associated pneumonia is an infection that occurs after a patient has been hospitalized for more than 48 hours and has high mortality and morbidity. This pathology prolongs the patient's stay in the intensive care unit. The main objective of the clinical case is to know the main causes of nosocomial pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and therefore the preventive measures that must be taken in all patients admitted to the intensive care unit. The most important signs and symptoms in patients with hospital-acquired pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation are loss of appetite, fluctuating temperature with chills, general malaise, nausea with vomiting, shortness of breath, cough with expectoration, headache, dyspnea, and weight loss.
