Shrnutí: | Bronchitis is the inflammation of the bronchial ducts, the airways that carry oxygen to your lungs. This causes a cough that frequently has mucus. It also causes difficulty breathing, gasping and chest pressure. Most cases of acute bronchitis improve within a few days, but the cough can last several weeks after the infection has healed. Often, the same viruses that cause cold and flu can cause acute bronchitis. These viruses spread through the air when someone coughs or through physical contact (for example, someone who has not washed their hands). Exposure to cigarette smoke, air pollution, dust and gases can also cause acute bronchitis. Likewise, bacteria can cause acute bronchitis, but not as often as viruses. |
