| Sumari: | The study "Emerging Technologies as Tools for Social Inclusion" analyzes how digitalization can improve the quality of life in rural communities, focusing on Babahoyo. Key areas such as education, health, access to basic services, and employment were identified, evaluating the impact of tools like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and the Internet of Things. The methodology included focus groups and surveys conducted among rural inhabitants, revealing that lack of connectivity, high device costs, and limited digital training are critical barriers. The results show that while emerging technologies offer opportunities such as distance education and telemedicine, the digital divide continues to limit access. The study highlights the need for teacher and community training programs to encourage technological adoption. Additionally, it proposes investment strategies in digital infrastructure and public policies that promote technological equity. In conclusion, digitalization can be a key driver for social inclusion, but it requires coordinated efforts between the government, private sector, and communities to ensure accessibility and sustainability. Strengthening rural connectivity and implementing initiatives to reduce digital inequalities in vulnerable sectors are recommended. |
