En esta enfermedad el contagio ocurre con mayor frecuencia en el ámbito intradomiciliario, favorecido por el desconocimiento, la falta de escolaridad, los recursos económicos bajos, la atención medica no oportuna, la falta de apoyo en esta enfermedad considerada crónica, provocando en algunos casos el abandono del tratamiento, complicando más la situación del paciente y favoreciendo la drogo resistencia y por consecuencia la prevalencia de la infección. Siendo el objetivo de esta investigación fue identificar qué factores influyen en el abandono y adherencia al tratamiento antituberculoso por parte de los pacientes y así poder establecer una propuesta para mejorar la atención integral a los pacientes que se incluyen en el Programa de control de la Tuberculosis, haciendo que su situación de salud se mejore de manera considerable. El diseño del estudio fue de tipo explorativo, descriptivo, explicativo. La población y muestra en el que se estudiaron fueron 14 casos de pacientes tuberculosos, entre los que se adhirieron al tratamiento y los que lo abandonaron.
