Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease, at least 20 species of parasites of the genus Leishmania are known, which are to mammals by the bite of female hematophagous diptera insects, they correspond to different species of sandflies, of the Psychodidade family, they were reservoirs are different wild animals y Human infection can be from parasites in a reservoir or from parasites that the vector has taken from another human host. In humans, Leishmania infection can take the following forms: cutaneous, mucosal, and visceral leishmaniasis. The presentation of the disease varies according to the species of Leishmania and the immune response of the host, among others. It is found mainly in tropical regions. Leishmaniasis occurs more frequently in rural areas and affects vulnerable populations. This disease is more frequently associated with malnutrition, population displacement, inadequate housing conditions, and lack of resources. Similarly, we consider that this disease is linked to environmental changes such as: climate, deforestation, urbanization, among others.
