Achoimre:This study investigates how magazines in Ecuador, particularly in Babahoyo, have adapted their content strategies, business models, and technologies to meet the consumption patterns in the digital age, evaluating the impact of these adaptations on the quality and diversity of the content offered, as well as on their economic sustainability. Drawing on theories of network communication and media convergence, this work examines the transition of traditional magazines to digital platforms, emphasizing the importance of innovation and interactivity in content production. The mixed-methodology approach reveals that, although magazines such as "Vistazo", "GK", and "Jaccely" have implemented various digital strategies, they confront significant economic challenges and increasing competition. The findings confirm the hypothesis that magazines effectively adapting to new digital consumption forms are more likely to maintain their relevance and viability. The study underscores the necessity for diversified monetization strategies, enhanced audience engagement through social networks, and the importance of digital skills training for editorial teams. In conclusion, digital adaptation is essential for the survival of magazines in Ecuador, necessitating a holistic approach that includes technological innovations as well as organizational and cultural shifts.
