Reproducción de macollos de vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) sometidos a las fases lunares, en la zona de Babahoyo, Provincia de Los Ríos

VIII. SUMMARY The objective of this research was to determine the lunar phases of greater influence for plant propagation of tillers in cultivating vetiver together the effect of two different cutting lengths in the test was evaluated. The work was done on the grounds of the Experimental Farm "San Pablo", Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Babahoyo, located at kilometer 7.5 of the road Babahoyo - Montalvo, Los Rios. 10 treatments comprised of four phases each with two cutting lengths were studied, and two witnesses with two cutting lengths; Witnesses were seedlings that were reproduced without specific time lunar stage. For analysis of the results a factorial design, which consisted of two factors, factor A (four lunar phases and 2 witnesses), and factor B (2 Cutting length) was used for comparison of averages he used the multiple range test of Tukey at 5% probability. Upon completion of the test was evaluated: Prendimiento seedling production per tiller stems, plant height, root volume, root wet weight, dry weight of roots, root biomass production. The results determined that the lunar phases: half and full are the best times to perform the asexual propagation. Cut lengths of stems and roots did not influence the results obtained in this test, this indicates that can be cut to 25 x 8 cm or 20 x 5cm. Roots volumes could be influenced as the lunar phase that vegetative reproduction is made, however the best time according to the results are waning moon and full moon.
