| Sumari: | The present case study provides evidence of how a generalized anxiety disorder can occur due to stress after an individual experiences situations of excessive work activity, the current problem posed is lived in a 46 year old teacher who works in the Ricaurte educational unit due to excessive activities, leading her to lose resilience in this situation, The consequences of this situation affected her mentally, leading her to produce a generalized anxiety disorder which generated negative activation in different areas such as cognitive, affective, behavioral and somatic, but thanks to her will to reduce her symptoms, she decided to seek psychological help, achieving new perspectives to manage the situation that was affecting her, in the process several psychological tools were used such as interviews, application of psychological batteries, psychotherapeutic intervention based on cognitive behavioral therapy, finally it was possible to deduce the hypothesis that we had regarding the objective of knowing whether or not work stress affects mental health, leaving as an answer that it does affect and that it cannot only produce a single disorder but also a wide comorbidity, The psychological work that was carried out was distributed in different sessions with a duration of 40 minutes each, leading to an effective collection of information to later support the findings with the diagnostic manuals DSM-5 and ICD-10. |
